In addition to a day of uplifting and relaxing yoga practices, you will also be introduced to the ‘Chakras’. According to yoga tradition, the subtle body is a part of you that you can’t see or touch—it’s where your energy flows, which is why it’s also referred to as the energy body. There are seven key points in the subtle body that are thought to be vortexes of energy, known as chakras. When energy becomes blocked in a chakra, it triggers physical, mental, or emotional imbalances that manifest in symptoms such as anxiety, lethargy, or poor digestion.
This is a gentle introduction to the chakras. It will combine the practice of asana, pranayama and meditation to awaken and balance the energy centres of the body. It is suitable for anyone interested in learning a little more about the deeper realms of yoga or for those with an ‘open mind’ and fancy a deeply nurturing yoga day.
The morning session will be more dynamic and uplifting in the style of ‘Hatha Yoga’. Following this, we will have a delicious Ayurvedic vegetarian lunch. The afternoon session will be light and fun, restorative and gentle. Creating a safe place for you to relax, renew and restore your energy.
