If you’re experiencing stress or tension, and would love an opportunity to recharge your body and mind before the winter, this week has been designed for you. At this time of year Crete is still sunny and warm, making it the most popular time for travellers who want to soak up the chilled-out way of life, beautiful weather and fresh sea air.
Our de-stress week will take you deeply into a relaxed frame of mind with two daily yoga classes, massage, and lots of free time to soak up the Mediterranean sun, explore the island and to swim at any of Kastelli’s spectacular beaches.
You’ll be served a breakfast of local fresh fruit and coffee each morning before your yoga class, and we’ll connect with group dinners every evening at the island’s finest tavernas, accompanied by local musicians.

De-stress week schedule:
-Morning Hatha Yoga with pranayama:
We’ll start each day by connecting to a deep sense of calm with this relaxing style of yoga. Pranayama is an ancient practice of breath control, which research shows is a highly effective way of reducing common stress symptoms such as anxiety and depression. On subtle levels, “prana” represents the pranic energy responsible for life or life force, and "ayama" means control. It’s possible to control the rhythms of pranic energy with pranayama, and we’ll be using this to set our intention for the day and achieve a healthy body and mind.
-Evening Vinyasa Yoga to strengthen your muscles and mind:
Our evening sessions will leave you feeling clear-headed and revitalised. Vinyasa yoga is a faster paced, flowing style which utilizes postures and breathing techniques to encompass mind, body and spirit. The asanas (postures) are linked together in a series of movements that are synchronized with the breath, resulting in a smooth, energising ‘flow’ practice.
-Daily Functional Training class:
Functional training strengthens and tones your body, releasing stress and helping you avoid injury and improve your quality of life.The exercises train your muscles to work together and prepare them for daily tasks by simulating common movements you might do at home, at work or in sports. By using various muscles in the upper and lower body at the same time, they also emphasize core stability.
-3 Afternoons of Thai Massage practice, learning basic palming techniques and the main body meridian lines:
Experience the powerful relaxation of traditional Thai massage and learn the basic techniques so that you can utilise it yourself. This style of massage is a powerful way to help your muscles, joints, ligaments and fascia by relaxing muscle tension, relieving spasms, and improving the range of motion. By activating the parasympathetic nervous system, we’ll stimulate the release of endorphins and serotonin, giving an incredible feeling of wellbeing and resulting in deep and peaceful sleep.
-Daily sunset meditation and light music class on the beach:
We’ll close each day with powerful meditation techniques to deeply relax your whole body and mind. Meditation reaches every cell in the body, filling it with prana (energy). This results in joy, peace, and renewed enthusiasm.

You will be staying in Medkiss village, 40km from Chania on the road to Kissamos on the eastern side of the island. This family-run hotel is 30m from a private sandy beach, where you can enjoy daily swimming and sunbathing, and enjoys complete peace during the evening time. The hotel consists of four widely spaced separate buildings affording a unique sense of spaciousness. We combine friendliness, professionalism and commitment to make your stay a most pleasurable and relaxed one indeed.
